I love a trans seasonal jacket. Blazer, bomber or cropped - I’m drawn to all of them.
And this is why -
For a start [a jacket like this] will keep you feeling comfortable in almost all climatic conditions. Basically any time other than mid winter or mid summer. It will also often transform whatever else you’re wearing into something altogether more polished and complete.
Which means I’m more or less on a permanent search for good ones.
On a recent trip to Sydney from Melbourne I came face to face with a bomber jacket I’d been eyeing online.
I tried it on but held off making a decision due to time constraints. When I got home though I found myself still thinking about it. The jacket was on sale and could only be returned for credit but I went ahead anyway, feeling reassured by having seen it in the flesh.

When it arrived I felt underwhelmed. Not by the jacket itself - which I already knew was beautiful, quietly unusual and incredibly well made. It was more about what it looked like on. It seemed a little big. It felt unstructured, very un-blazer like. And I was not at all sure what I would wear it with.
This fantastic letter from
landed in my inbox around the same time. In the process of decluttering her wardrobe the author identified what made her buy things. The bulk of items she parted with fell into one of these categories -Because it’s a damn good deal!
Because it’s such good quality!
I saw myself in those words and realised both of these factors had played into my purchase. Buyer’s remorse began to set in…
Despite this though, I gradually started wearing the jacket especially on cooler (summer) days.
I’ve been experimenting as well and here are some of the results -

To be completely honest, I don’t love the jacket in the same way as some of my tailored items. But having it in my wardrobe offers the potential for a different silhouette. So it’s growing on me.
Was it a ‘mistake’ to buy it? Time will tell but I really like
’s thinking on this subject -My style resolution for 2025 can be summed up in one word: ENJOY….So often I’ve been down on myself about… “buying the wrong thing” …that it all tends to feel like a bit of a shame spiral instead of a joy ride. And so that’s my promise to myself in 2025: to enjoy every minute, the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, as all part of the process.
Which is probably a good point to end on.
Do you have any feedback on how to style my jacket? I would really love to hear it! Along with any other comments.
Thanks so much for being here, I’ll see you in two weeks! Bye for now.

I love this jacket on you!! Sometimes we need to style new pieces to see how the blend with our existing wardrobe before we make a final judgement. Thanks so much for the shout out, too! Xx
